A hand colored aquatint etching after an original painting by Claude Marie Dubufe (French 1790-1864) titled La Demande or The Proposal. This print, etched by Maile, depicts a woman wearing a white dress and a cross necklace reading a letter. The print features printed text to the lower left corner reading ‘Dubufe pina.’ and to the lower right corner ‘Maile sc.’ The print features the title printed along the bottom center margin and is housed in a gold tone wooden frame, double matting, and is housed under glass.

- blemishes to glass; chips and scratches to frame; minor blemishes to frame.
