A bronze constructed store front plaque that once hung outside of the New York City Herald Square Gimbel Brothers flagship department store. This vintage sign, one of three in existence, features bronze construction with a beveled edge and holes holes hanging. The Gimbel Brothers, also called ‘Gimbels’, was an American department store corporation in operation from 1887 through 1987. Gimbels is known for the creation of the first department store parade, the Gimbels Thanksgiving Day Parade in 1920 in Philadelphia, which still runs today as the 6abc Dunkin’ Donuts Thanksgiving Day Parade.
