Original Bronze Tone Metal Bust by Alvar Suñol's "Matador"

Item Details

An original patinated bronze tone metal bronze bust by listed Spanish artist Alvar Suñol (Alvar Suñol Munoz-Ramos, b. 1935). The piece, titled Matador, alternately titled Head of a Toreador, depicts a stylized male head wearing a bullfighter’s montera. The work is signed ‘Alvar’ in mold to the back of the figure’s neck. The bust rests on a square unmarked base.

Condition

- minor surface wear, markings and patina throughout; bust is not firmly attached to base; small nicks to edges of base.
