A group of five vintage and antique handbags. This selection includes a 1920s vintage Art Deco gold tone mesh evening bag featuring an oval link chain handle, a tapering frame ending in a kiss clasp and a mesh tassel at the end of the oblong body; and an early 20th century steel cut beaded handbag in a champagne, gold tone and silver tone Deco design, featuring a link chain handle, a silver tone frame, a lift clasp, beaded crochet fringe to the base and pink raw silk lining. Also included is a mid-century vintage tapestry handbag embellished with a French pastoral motif to the front and back and a floral pattern along the sides. This bag features a gold tone curb link handle, a silver tone frame with a kiss clasp, gold tone metallic piping and peach cloth lining. The second mid century tapestry bag in this group is embellished in a multicolor rose design with a curb link handle and a scrolling acanthus frame, it is lined in cream cloth. The single wallet in the group is a 1960s vintage Florentine tooled leather wallet with an ornate brown, red and yellow gilt design to the front, featuring a gold toned frame and push clasp, leather lining marked ‘Leather School Florence’ and interior pocket.
Condition
- some wear to all pieces especially the early 20th century beaded bag is in very poor condition, inside of bag is deteriorating and fringe at bottom of bag is coming undone.
