Collection of Offset Lithographs on Paper Featuring Landscapes of Singapore
Item Details
A collection of three offset lithographs on paper featuring landscapes of Singapore. Included is an offset lithograph after a colored lithograph by Vincent Brooks titled Singapore from Mount Wallich at Sunrise originally created in 1857; the lithograph was based off an 1856 oil painting by Percy Carpenter. Also included is an offset lithograph after a lithograph by W.H. McFarlane of Edinburgh, titled Singapore Waterfront; this lithograph was based after a 19th-century oil painting by W. Gray. The final item is an offset lithograph after an 1851 oil painting by John Turnbull Thomson, titled The Padang in Singapore. Each work is presented under glass in matching black wood frame with gold-tone sight edges. Descriptive labels are present to the versos.
Condition
- glass would benefit from cleaning; wear to frame finishes; faint stains and foxing throughout prints.
