A collection of three abstract compositions on canvas boards by listed American artist Ronald Ahlström (1922-2012). One acrylic and ink painting titled Figure features a black silhouetted female figure against a yellow, pink, and orange, and blue background filled with gestural brushstrokes. The two other works are mixed media collages composed of acrylic paint, ink, various paper scraps, fragmented printed imagery, and other materials; these compositions feature abstract geometric designs, one of which includes simple red, yellow, black, and white shapes and the other with fragmented articles from periodicals. All works are signed either to the front or to the verso; one composition includes the artist’s monogram stamp. Each work remains unframed.
Condition
- minor smudge marks throughout compositions; scratches and peeling of paper fragments; minor spots of paint loss scattered throughout; minor fraying along edges of canvas boards.
