Qualla Reservation Cherokee Dolls and Miniature Drum

A collection of decorative art pieces made by Cherokee people of the Qualla in North Carolina. This collection includes two plastic dolls in traditional fringed leather clothing with beaded, painted and appliqué decoration, both carrying babies on their backs; and a miniature cylindrical drum with leather drum heads held together by leather cord. The drum includes a wooden mallet and both dolls include heart-shaped wooden stands. Tags on all three items read ‘Made by The Cherokees Qualla Reservation Cherokee, N. C.’
