T. Sutherland Hand-Colored Engravings After William Heath Works

A pair of hand-colored T. Sutherland engravings after original paintings by William Heath. Included are The Battle of Vittoria, June 21st, 1813 and The Storming of St. Sebastian, August 31st, 1813, both of which depict a platoon of British forces contending with opposition on a large scale. They are printed on heavy rag paper with an inscription denoting publisher, artist, medium, title and synopsis of the titular battles in the margins. It is complimented by an in plate mini-composition by the engraver, T. Sutherland.
Condition
- pencil inscription found to lower right corner; wear to both prints; smudges found to edges of Storming.

- measures sheet size of one print, both measure approximately identical; plate sizes measures approximately identical: 22.0" w x 15.75" h.
