An offset lithograph after an official U.S. Navy photograph in the National Archives. The original 1953 photograph depicts the U.S.S. New Jersey, an Iowa-class battleship, arriving in a Japanese port during the Korean War with harbor defense nets in the background. The New Jersey, also known as Big J or Black Dragon, remained in service from 1942 until 1999 and is now a museum ship in Camden, New Jersey. The piece is presented behind a blue double mat under glass in a wood frame with a wire present to verso for hanging.
Condition
- chips throughout edges of frame; water spots on backing paper; cracks and wear along cracks throughout print image.
