An acrylic painting on canvas of a flock of bobwhite quails, by artist Virginia Herd. This work depicts the birds scattering in flight against an autumnal backdrop of leafless trees and yellow grass, a heap of barkless wood laying at the center of the composition. This piece is signed and dated ‘1980’ to its lower left corner, and is mounted in a gold tone frame with a textile liner and a wire for hanging.

- minor dents and scratches to frame; one larger dent to upper edge; some debris to verso; canvas slightly loose in frame
