1920s Trunk & Wooden Hat Box
Item Details
An early 20th century trunk and wooden hat box. The trunk is made of wood with riveted metal edging, reinforced corners, a non-functional lock in the center of the front face, two exterior buckle locks, and two metal guides to keep sides lined up. The makers mark reads ‘Quality Baggage, Made by W. W. Winship & Sons Custom Trunks, Faber Factory No. 2, Utica NY’. The interior has two adjustable straps and shelves for a tray (not present). The hat box is painted red with a motif on one side. Wording on the bottom side in Chinese (added later) meaning ‘fresh garlic.’
Condition
- Trunk’s leather handle is broken
- Both pieces have some marks and general wear.
