A collection of four first edition antique and vintage hardcover books by various authors. The first edition titled Rupert’s Ambition was written by Horatio Alger, Jr. (The John C. Winston Co., Philadelphia, 1899). This book is bound in green cloth covered boards with a stamped front cover and spine illustration and lettered in black. Written by Major Robert Maitland is the first edition of The Boy Scout Fire-fighters Or Jack Danby’s Bravest Deed (The Saalfield Publishing Company, Chicago, 1913). This is bound in green cloth with an orange and green stamped illustration to the front cover. The endpapers are illustrated. The first edition of The Young Firemen Of Lakeville Or Herbert Dare’s Pluck was written by Frank V. Webster (Cupples & Leon Company, New York, 1909). This illustrated volume contains drawings throughout the text. The Firebug: A Mystery Story For Boys, bound in red cloth cover with black lettering, was written by Roy J. Snell (The Reilly & Lee Co., Chicago, 1925).
