A vintage Art Nouveau OSIRIS/ISIS decorative metalwork box. The pewter tone metal box features: a bisected hinged flip-open top accented with round green and blue eye-like beads and small upturned handles, a square body which tapers downward and is decorated on each side with a pressed border and four-lobe details, and a square base which curves downward into a thin metal sheet and curves slightly upward at the corners. The underside of the piece is marked OSIRIS 436 ISIS. The OSIRIS/ISIS company was a German metalware production company which operated between 1899 – 1909, developing its own type of pewter called ISIS metal.
