Vintage Louis XV Style Chest of Drawers by Landstrom Furniture

Item Details

A vintage chest of drawers in the Louis XV style, by Landstrom Furniture. This mahogany piece has a shallow top drawer with a carved flower basket between applied burl panels, which are set with rosette knobs. Under the drawer are a pair of blind panel doors with burl veneer, incised arch border, and carved rosettes on leaves at the top corners. They open via rosette knobs to reveal two drawers with machine cut dovetail joinery. The two stacked bottom drawers have a chevron matched veneer to the front, accented by an incised border and floral handles. The scalloped apron has carved shell and floral vine accents, and stretches between cabriole legs with whorl feet. The maker’s tag is to the inside of a drawer.
