An antique Continental carved oak Buffet Deux Corps featuring a top piece with two detailed, carved musicians leaning against a ship’s wheel above a rail with turned balusters. The low relief carved cabinet doors depict village scenes with groupings of figures in Provincial dress, trees with foliage and buildings. The traditional Provence fabric can been seen through the balusters and the doors are flanked with turned columns. The interior is also lined with the Provence yellow fabric and the sides exhibit an incised design. The sideboard features a back railing with carved daisy panels in a serpentine wrap flanked by standing male and female figurines in Provincial dress. The lower cabinet has two drawers with unique tassel pulls and a center key hole with key. The carved cabinet doors are trimmed with balusters showing the fabric. The doors are carved with low relief scenes depicting transaction involving a steer. Included are two oak plank shelves.
