1918 End of WWI Newspaper and War Books
Item Details
A 1918 framed newspaper with headlines related to the end of World War I with four war related books. This original front page of the Cincinnati Post dated Monday, November 11 has the headline ‘Here are Terms of Surrender That Closed War’ set against an orange-red mat in a wood frame. Also included are four books about war history featuring a 1918 Woman’s Weekly publication titled Liberty’s Victorious Conflict: A Photographic History of the World War. Other books include are The First World War: A Photographic History published in 1933 by Simon and Schuster, The Unknown War published in 1978 by Bantam Books, and a Life: Our Century in Pictures on the events of the twentieth century. Framed newspaper is equipped to hang with wire to the back.
Condition
- frame has age wear with raised grain and edge splintering as shown. Books have light to normal wear with the “Liberty” book having age and handling deterioration as shown.
