Copeland Spode World War II Ceramic Pitcher and Cup

A pair of Copeland Spode World War II ceramic pieces. Offered is a pitcher with a transfer-printed image of Winston Churchill in front of war vehicles with the quotes ‘All I can offer is blood, toil, tears, and sweat’ and ‘Never in the field of human conflict was so much owed by so many to so few’, both being quotes attributed to Prime Minister Churchill in 1940. The the other side is a British and American flag behind a banner that reads ‘We stand for democracy’. Also included is a cup designed by The British War Relief Society, a US-based humanitarian organization, with the British Monarchy motto to one side and the BWRS emblem. Both pieces are marked ‘Copeland Spode England’ and the cup is also marked ‘Design registered in United States and Great Britain used by permission of British War Relief Society under royalty agreement’.
