A Wedgwood Elder Brewster tea set. This reproduction set of three pieces includes a teapot, a lidded sugar bowl, and a waste bowl. The pieces feature gilding and violet aubergine blossom accents. The teapot is marked to the base in 1800s script ‘The Elder Brewster Tea Pot – The Original was brought to America on the Mayflower AD 1620 – And has been exactly copied and Reproduced By Richard Briggs Boston – From ye Ceramic Collection Of Gov Lyon 1871 – Wedgwood – Etruria, England’. The sugar bowl is marked to the base ‘Wedgwood – Etruria, England’. The original thirteen-piece set is in the Brooklyn Museum.
