A set of Mid Century Modern Raymond Loewy for Rosenthal Sunburst china. Loewy (French-American, 1893-1986) was an industrial designer, responsible for several iconic corporate logos of the mid twentieth century. He had a long-running relationship with Studebaker, crafting a new logo in the 1950s and providing design assistance to some of their classic models. Loewy worked with Rosenthal to craft the pattern Sunburst for their fine china line. The pieces feature a simple design with a white ground and a single gold tone stylized sunburst to the side of each piece. The collection includes one oval platter, five fruit bowls, twelve small bowls, twelve plates for bowls and twelve small plates. Each piece is marked to the underside.
