Item Details
A hand-knotted Indo-Shirvan accent rug. This wool rug is rendered in a palette of cerulean, cream, black, and burgundy. It features a complex design incorporating two polygonal medallions on either side of a rectangular panel, these elements enclosing stars, palmettes, multi-branched motifs, flowers, and other symbolic imagery. The field is framed by two borders, including an outer guard border grounded in black, featuring morning glories and meandering vines. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing with long, braided cotton warp fringe. It is unlabeled.
