Semi-Antique Hand Knotted Baluch Runner
Item Details
A semi-antique, hand knotted Baluch Runner. This flatweave wool rug is hand-knotted and embroidered with four diamond medallions to the center framed in a memling lattice of burgundy over a midnight blue field. The palette is midnight blue, burgundy, ivory, and camel. Enclosing the field is a border of repeating geometric shapes, extending into the major border of squares on a burgundy ground. Selvedges are double overcast; ends finish with burgundy kilim skirts featuring embroidery in camel and blue, with short brown fringe made of camel hair and wool. The rug is unmarked.
