A hand-knotted Persian Arak area rug. This wool rug features a central medallion, flowers, foliage, and stylized vines over an ivory field. The palette is cherry, merlot, ivory, sapphire, midnight blue, and sage. Framing the field are compound borders, including a primary border grounded in midnight blue, featuring poppies and meandering vines. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing at one end with short ivory warp fringe and at the other with a short kilim skirt and no fringe. Unlabeled.
