Antique Louis XVI Style Bombe Form Chest on Chest

Item Details

An antique Louis XVI style bombe form chest on chest. The piece features figured and bookmatched veneers including fiddleback and birdseye maple and applied carvings. Scrolled stiles and curved sides lend the bombe form to this piece. The piece has a two part design of three stacked drawers over decorative waist molding and a lower chest with graduated drawers. Both pieces include decorative brass pulls and rise up on turned and fluted trumpet feet.

Condition

- back left foot is broken and needs repair (other part of broken foot is in top drawer); loss to upper left corner molding; some loss to the veneers; tarnishing to the pulls; shrinkage to the veneers.
