A Zaandam wall clock with blue Delft tiles. The clock is a Zaandam wall clock with a walnut case that displays a crest with a large figure of the mythological Atlas as carries the world. The figure stands on the brass chime surrounded by brass ornaments displaying the Amsterdam city crest and a front ornament displaying three women that represent faith, hope and charity. The clock has bronze columns to the front that flank a silvered face with black Roman numerals and brass hands and is set on blue Delft tiles with raised brass spandrels. Other features of the clock include side windows with visible gears, a brass fretwork apron, brass pear-shaped weights, a distinct chime and 8-day clockwork.
