Robert Broderson Gouache Painting "Prisoner & Captive"

A gouache painting on paper Prisoner & Captive by well listed American artist Robert Broderman (1920-1992). This painting depicts two figures standing shoulder to shoulder. The figures seem to emerge out of the chaotic black and white brush work. This piece was painted on the back of a vintage wallpaper sample and areas have been left unpainted and used as a mid tone in the composition. The piece is signed to the upper right in white and is unframed.

Condition

- the paper has some crimping, creasing, and pin holes along the edges. There are three evenly spaced holes punched out of the upper edge.
