Damascus Blade Katana with Foliate and Crane Motif and Scabbard
Item Details
A Damascus blade katana with a foliate and crane motif and a scabbard. Featuring a long, slightly curved sword blade with a central ridge; a maker’s mark is etched into the base of the blade. The hilt features a pierced and ornate tsuba with images of cranes in flight, with a similar ringed pommel and _mekuk_i peg, The grip shares a foliate design pattern with the scabbard, enhanced by images of leaves, trees, and flowers in green, orange, and white. The scabbard also has a metal mouth, cord retainer, brace, and tip with geometric designs and appearance to match the tsuba.
Condition
- rust to scabbard and hilt; tarnish to ricasso; stain at base of blade.
