A pair of hand-colored lithographs on paper of horse-drawn carriages after original compositions by artists, Horace Vernet and Victor-Jean Vincent Adam. Chaise de Poste after Victor-Jean Vincent Adam depicts a horse-drawn carriage traveling through a wooded landscape. It is signed and titled in-plate to the lower margins. Malle Poste after Horace Vernet depicts people gathered around a horse-drawn mail cart. This print is unsigned and titled in-plate to the lower center margin. Both prints are presented behind glass in wooden frames with a hanging wire affixed to the versos.
Condition
- wear consistent with age and use; toning and surface stains to prints; water damage to both; wear throughout frame finishes.

- measures frame; visible image measures 7.5" H x 5.0" W; both prints measure the same.
