An ink drawing on paper of gnomes. This monochromatic drawing depicts an illustrative rendering of gnomes frantically holding up and pushing a calligraphy pen, as one is seen triumphantly standing at the top, guiding the group in their mark making. The composition is rendered with clustered, cross-hatched and frenetic linework. The drawing is mounted to a backing and is placed under glass in a black and spattered gold wooden frame with hanging wire to the verso.
