Six 19th Century W. Baxter Hand Colored Engravings of British Flowering Plants
Item Details
A collection of 19th Century hand colored botanical engravings by W. Baxter. Includes six engravings of various British flowering plants, each with applied hand coloring. The prints were each published in different years ranging from 1835-1849 and are marked ‘Russel Del and Mathews Sc’ on two plates and ‘Mathews Del & Sc’ on four of the plates. Each print is housed in a wooden frame under glass.
Condition
- toning; some foxing; frames have very minor surface wear, the prints have text offsetting (transfer of ink from the facing text page but it’s quite faint).
