A collection of Easton Press collector’s edition books by Thomas Hardy. Featured are three books from the Library of Famous Editions collection, The Mayor of Casterbridge (1964), Far from the Madding Crowd (1983), and Tess of the D’Urbervilles (1984), and two from the 100 Greatest Books Ever Written collection, Jude by Thomas Hardy (1977) and The Return of the Native (1978). Also included is an edition of Two Tales by Herman Melville (1980), from the Masterpieces of American Literature collection. Each book was published by the Easton Press and is presented in a leather bound cover with gilt imprinted pattern work and raised bands to the spine.
