Silk
A pair of Chinese watercolor paintings on silk of landscapes. These two paintings depict undulating, rocky mountains which are obscured by fog. They roll to the foreground, revealing a sandy shore bordering a calm expanse of water. Situated within alcoves of clustered trees are pagoda-like structures. One is signed and sealed ‘Tian Hui’ (田卉) and the other ‘Da….’ (大…). The paintings are bordered by a silk brocade and are placed under glass in a mottled black and gold tone wooden frame with hanging wire to the verso.
Condition
- wear to both frames; some foxing to silk surface and border; smudges and debris to surface of glazing; wear to versos.
