A decorative palekh-style lacquered wooden plate from Russia. This plate depicts the Russian fairy tale Ruslan and Ludmila by Alexander Pushkin. In this scene, the knight Ruslan confronts the slumbering head of a giant. The plate is constructed of wood with a black lacquered finish; a label in Cyrillic and a wire for hanging are affixed to the verso. It also comes with a folding wooden plate stand.
