A hand-knotted Indo-Persian round area rug. This wool rug, likely made in India, features a large-scale herati field with palmettes, lancet leaves, flowers, and vines over black. The palette is gold, black, burgundy, and tan. Framing the field are four borders, including a wide primary border grounded in gold, featuring a pattern incorporating black cartouches, which enclose palmettes. The edge is overcast. Unlabeled.
