A hand-creweled carpet runner. This piece features a palette of sapphire, cornsilk, shades of green, mocha, lilac, and rust. It begins with a cartouche-shaped lozenge grounded in sapphire and filled with flowers.The lozenge rests on a rust-colored field with Chinese key-style spandrels. Framing the field are compound borders, including a floral and foliate primary border with floral cameos in each corner. Edges are bound. Ends finish with long knotted fringe. The rug has a full fabric backing and is unlabeled.
