Nigerian Relief Wood Carving

Item Details

An African wood carving. The wood carving is made from a slab of wood with an arched and pierced top. There are carved scallops to the outside border, and the top section is pierced, with a carved spirit mask in relief, below. The mask depicts a human face with tall curved horns, which form the divisions in the pierced area above. This piece is not signed, however a piece of tape affixed to the back is marked ‘Eketng – Nigeria’.
