A restrike engraving after Edward Hacker’s Mr. Charles Davis on ‘The Traverser’. The original hand-stippled colored engraving was engraved by Edward H. Hacker (English,1813-1905), after a painting the brothers William and Henry Barraud (English, 1810-1850, 1811-1874 respectively). It depicts Davis (1788-1866), who was Master of the Royal Buckhounds, on a brown horse, surrounded by foxhounds, with Windsor Castle in the distance. Underneath the image is a dedication to the Earl of Bessborough by W & H Barraud. This work is presented under glass, double-matted with tan and gray mats, and housed in a gold-tone and black wood frame. A descriptive label is present to the verso.

- smudges and residue throughout glass; scratches, stains, and finish loss scattered throughout frame; stains to verso; label to verso is ripped.
