A 1940 early edition of For Whom the Bell Tolls by Ernest Hemingway. This edition features tan fabric over board cover with “Ernest Hemingway” printed in black to front and the title in black lettering on a red square for the binding. Published in 1940 by Charles Scribner and Sons, New York.

- front and back cover in good condition
- inscription in pencil from previous owner – no dust jacket
- front cover a bit loose from spine
- very minor foxing; yellowing of pages
