A collection of seven books from the Franklin Library’s 100 Greatest Masterpieces of American Literature series, published by the Franklin Library of Franklin Center, Pennsylvania in the 1970s. These special edition books are bound in full leather with raised bands, gilt page edges and gilt cover decoration; this collection also includes the editor’s notes booklet for each book, stored together in a Franklin Library magazine file box. The books in this collection are James Thurber’s The Thurber Carnival, Thomas Wolfe’s Look Homeward, Angel, Sherwood Anderson’s Winesburg, Ohio, Willa Cather’s My Ántonia, Sinclair Lewis’s Main Street and Ambrose Bierce’s The Devil’s Dictionary.
