Louis XV Style Cherry China Cabinet by Basset Furniture

Item Details

A Louis XV style china cabinet by Bassett Furniture. It has a beveled cornice over a shelved cabinet section, over a base with three stacked drawers in the center flanked by a cabinet on each side; it has a beveled waist, scalloped apron, and stands on short cabriole legs with whorl feet. The top cabinet has four glass paned doors in arched frames, with a metal lattice overlay on the outer doors; they all open to two scalloped front wooden shelves with plate lines. The bottom drawers have a serpentine front, and the top one is divided and lined for silver. The bottom cabinets have a recessed arch border that echoes the arches along the top. It has brass hardware throughout, with key handle knobs on the top cabinets, and again on the bottom, set on decorative plates, while the drawers have filigreed leaf pull handles, with a similar styled escutcheon in the center of the top drawer. A Basset Furniture medallion is affixed inside a drawer.
