These special edition books are bound in full leather with raised bands, gilt page edges and gilt cover decoration; this collection also includes the editors’ notes booklet for eight of the books. The books in this collection are An American Tragedy by Theodore Dreiser, Sister Carrie by Theodore Dreiser, Miss Lonelyhearts and The Day of the Locust by Nathanael West, McTeague by Frank Norris, The Rise of Silas Lapham by William Dean Howells, The Age of Innocence by Edith Wharton, Humboldt’s Gift by Saul Bellow, Go Tell It on the Mountain by James Baldwin and Invisible Man by Ralph Ellison.
