Circa early 1800s P. Fearnley Wigan England Long Case Mahogany Clock

Item Details

Circa early 1800s Peter Fearnley, Wigan England mahogany George III period Chippendale style long case clock. The bonnet has fluted half pillars to the sides and scrolled crest accented with brass finials. The glass front opens to a hand-painted dial featuring lovely floral design, intricate clock hands and moon phases featuring a feminine moon. The bottom of the dial is marked ‘P. Fearnley Wigan’. The trunk of the clock offers full fluted pillars to the sides with intricate brass accents and ogee front cabinet. Wonderful qualities and history to this heirloom timepiece. It is not known if the clock works are original. This clock is currently not in working order.

Condition

There is a wood split to the top of the trunk, there are unattached and possibly missing pieces to the molding to the bottom, see pictures. The weights are currently out and have wear. The bonnet does not sit flush on clock. There are cracks to paint on clock face. This clock is currently not in working order.
