A collection of four classic American literary works published by the Franklin Library between 1977 and 1984. All four special edition books are bound in full leather with raised bands, gilt cover decoration and sewn-in ribbon bookmarks. F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby, Edgar Allan Poe’s The Tell-Tale Heart and Other Stories and the Collected Poems and Essays on Poetry of Edgar Allan Poe are all part of the 100 Greatest Masterpieces of American Literature series and include booklets of editors’ notes; the collection also includes a 1980 edition of John Steinbeck’s The Grapes of Wrath.
