Vintage Vanity with Mirror and Chair
Item Details
A vintage, circa early twentieth-century, vanity with mirror, and a chair. The vanity features a rectangular top with a waterfall edge and center scroll cut section. There is a matching wood framed mirror mounted to the back of the vanity, featuring an arched top. The mirror is attached to turned posts with finials, and it has brass hardware at the fittings, which allow the mirror to be tilted to the desired angle. Below is a recessed center drawer above the knee hole opening, with two dovetailed drawers to either side. The dressing table is made of stained hardwood, featuring lighter tone decorative wood inlay, and the drawers have brass pulls. The vanity rests on straight turned legs, and the back has an indistinct maker’s signature or other mark, along with a stenciled number ‘No-40-OR-1’. Please note, the framed mirror is attached to the dressing table with slotted screws, and it can be removed for easier transport. Also included is a Queen Anne solid wood chair featuring a wide center back splat, contoured seat, and elongated curved legs with carved claw and ball feet. The bottom rail has an interesting arrow motif. No maker’s marks.
