A collection of six limited first editions published between 1977 and 1981 as part of the Franklin Library’s First Edition Society series. These special edition books are bound in full leather with raised bands, gilt page edges and gilt cover decoration; this collection also includes the editors’ notes booklet for each book. The books in this collection are The Meeting at Telgate by Günter Grass, An American Prophet by Gerald Green, The Bold and Magnificent Dream: America’s Founding Years, 1492–1815 by Bruce Catton and William B. Catton, Creek Mary’s Blood by Dee Brown, Black Night, White Snow: Russia’s Revolutions 1905–1917 by Harrison E. Salisbury, and Bellefleur by Joyce Carol Oates.
