A collection of six limited first edition books published between 1976 and 1981 as part of the Franklin Library’s First Edition Society series. These special edition books are bound in full leather with raised bands, gilt page edges and gilt cover decoration; this collection also includes the editors’ notes booklets for all six books, stored together in a Franklin Library magazine file. The books in this collection are Tar Baby by Toni Morrison, Getting Up and Going Home by Robert Anderson, Sophie’s Choice by William Styron, The Destinies of Darcy Dancer, Gentleman by J. P. Donleavy, Recapitulation by Wallace Stegner and Selected Poems 1923–1975 by Robert Penn Warren.
