Sterling Silver Towle "Madeira" Flatware Set in Naken's Tarnish Proof Chest

A set of sterling silver Towle Madeira pattern flatware. The pattern Madeira was released by Towle in 1948 and features a simple design with a rounded end to the handles and delicate floral and vining designs to the outline of the handles. Each piece is marked Towle, Sterling and Madeira to the underside. Each of the blades on the dinner knives is marked Towle Stainless. The collection includes nine dinner knives, two butter knives, a ladle, two soup spoons, a serving fork, two trident-style pickle forks, three demitasse spoons, a condiment spoon, an iced tea spoon, fifteen teaspoons (including one with a monogram to the bowl), a tablespoon, eight salad forks and eight dinner forks. The total weight, excluding the dinner knives due to non-precious metal content, is 46.850 ozt.
