A collection of Franklin Library edition novels from the ‘100 Greatest Books of All Time’ series. Featured are English translated editions of Madame Bovary by Gustave Flaubert (1978), Candide, or Optimism by Voltaire (1978), and Nana by Émile Zola (1981). Also included are Vanity Fair by William Makepeace Thackeray (1977) and The Red and the Black by Stendhal (1979). The books are presented in leather bound covers with gilt detail throughout and raised bands to the spine. Each edition includes a small booklet with notes from the editors.
