A limited edition lithograph on paper by listed artist Richard Stenhouse (American, 1944- ). The 1971-1972 work is typical of Stenhouse’s oeuvre, a fantasy play on human faces, with three identical images of the lower half of a face with pursed lower lip and a fourth image of the face in a forced grin. Below the faces is the penciled title ‘…and furthermore, one out of every four Americans has tried it.’ The work is numbered 5 out of an edition of 8 and signed in pencil to the lower right margin. The lithograph is displayed under glass, floated over an off white mat and framed in light wood. Wired to the back for wall hanging. Richard Stenhouse, a native North Carolinian, received both his BFA and MFA from the University of North Carolina. His evocative fantasy landscapes that recall dreamlike images of his native state.
