Three M.J. Hummel Figurines

A grouping of three M.J. Hummel figurines. Depicting a boy and girl standing together, the girl is standing with a basket on her arm while the male figure stands by with his arm around her shoulder. This figurine titled ‘Surprise’ has both figures open mouthed in awe. The piece is stamped to the underside ‘Goebel W. Germany’, has an incised 943/0, and was initialed by the artist. Also included is an M.J. Hummel “Village Boy” set. The smaller village boy has a stylized bee, is stamped West Germany, and incised 513/0. The larger village boy from the early 1950s has the full bee hallmark stamped on the underside, an incised 513/0, and stamped ‘Germany’. Each boy is wearing brown shorts, a green jacket, and holding a wicker basket.
