Hand-Knotted Tabriz Area Rug
Item Details
A hand-knotted Persian wool rug, attributed to weavers of Tabriz. It features a large scarlet red lozenge with dense floral patterning in taupe, indigo blue, pale pink and ivory, having a large indigo blue pendant medallion at the center. It has high contrast white spandrels which repeat the floral pattern and colors, with a figural compound border of birds with florets and racemes of flower elements. It has overcast edges reinforced with leather on the underside, and long, hand-tied fringe to the ends. It is unlabeled.
